Sri Lanka have posted yet another sub-par total of 248 for 9. Mendis, Mathews and Chandimal all got fifties, and Tharanga chipped in with a 40-run cameo but all failed to convert it into big scores that could take Sri Lanka to a commanding total. Woakes and Plunkett led England's bowling with three wickets apeice. It certainly would require a phenomenal bowling effort from the Sri Lankans to successfully defend 248 and level the series.
